Our quick responses to disaster warnings and occurrence have helped us to save many people especially women and children who are often killed by rapid onset disasters like tsunamis and earthquakes
RESCUEMISSION staff work tirelessly to prevent violence against women and children especially girls during all emergencies, especially in conflict and disaster. Our Disaster and Crises Support Programmes are focused on supporting children and families as long as it could take to ensure that they recover from the losses, restore their lives and build their resilience for years to come.

RESCUEMISSION are focused on responding swiftly to save lives and reduce suffering during the times of emergency and this is just what we do! Humanitarian crises include man-made emergencies such as conflict and natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, droughts, hurricanes and cyclones and health-related epidemics.
There are extreme emergency situations which involve a combination of both natural and man-made emergencies which results in injuries, food shortage, water contamination, disease outbreaks and complete displacement of people. Consequently,

SPECIFIC APPROACHES TO ADDRESS EMERGENCIES
It is not always possible to predict precisely when the next disaster such as earthquake, flood or tsunami will strike. However, we do know that in times of crises – conflict, drought and disease outbreaks, people especially women and children are severely affected.
RESCUEMISSION’s natural disaster response and emergency relief programmes help protect people – women and children during disasters and help them deal with the aftershocks.

We work directly with Rescue Mission staff based in the local areas that have been hit with disasters to provide support and save lives. Our approach in an emergency is to empower local leaders to lead the response as they often possess the local knowledge essential to work in dangerous terrains. Our local staff together with the local leaders know best the needs of their communities and are able to ensure that life-saving supplies get to those who need it most swiftly and equitably.
RESCUEMISSION provide continuous training to our local staff and communities so that they are equipped to the knowledge and skills on disaster preparedness so that they are better prepared to lead their communities in times of crisis and aftermath. DISASTER RELIEF AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE
RESCUEMISSION have provided several disaster relief and emergency response around the World. We’re always there to response to crises and help save lives and rehabilitate communities. Some of our current disaster relief and emergency response include:
ROHINGYA CRISIS
There are more than 750,000 Rohingya refugees including more than 400 children who have fled to Bangladesh following severe violence, discrimination and extreme poverty for decades in Myanmar. Most of them have walked for days and arrive in overcrowded refugee camps, sick, exhausted and in desperate need of food, water and medicine.
RESCUEMISSION are working around the clock to support Rohingya refugees to have access to basic needs.
YEMEN CRISIS
The disaster in the war-torn Yemen is the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, with more than 80%, that’s about 24 million people face starvation including more than 12 million children in need of humanitarian assistance. Around 400,000 children under 5 years old are suffering from severe acute malnutrition and require treatment of diarrhoea and cholera. However,

SYRIAN CONFLICT AND REFUGEE CRISIS
Syria has endured years of brutal conflicts has been a living nightmare for children and families tormented by years of bombings, airstrikes and violence that have torn the country apart. As fighting and shelling continues to intensify, children are continuously arriving at overcrowded refugee camps – malnourished, underweight and with panic attacks. In these terrible times,

CYCLONE IDAI AND CYCLONE KENNETH
yclones Idai and Kenneth have struck and devasted Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique leaving more than 10million people including 1.5 million boys and girls in need of food clean water, shelter and life-saving resources. The lack of clean water and sanitation poses a deadly threat as water-borne diseases like cholera begin to spread.

CRISIS IN THE HORN OF AFRICA
The horn of Africa has seen long periods of climate crises, due to severe heat waves and drought as a result of extremely high temperatures leading to long periods of drought and famine. This part of Africa is described as the most tumultuous region because the disastrous conditions are made worse by war and conflicts.
RESCUEMISSION are providing essential needs and working with local decision-makers to prevent war and conflict.
EBOLA CRISIS
The spread of Ebola viruses one of the deadliest humanitarian crises to deal with because it results in sudden fever, intense weakness, muscle pain and a sore throat. As the conditions of victims deteriorates, they experience vomiting and diarrhoea and bleeding. Patients tend die from dehydration and multiple organ failure. The virus is contagious making it difficult to treat.
RESCUEMISSION are building health infrastructure and information systems to constantly monitor the situation.
